From The Insanity Files

It was a case of weird synchronicity today.  This morning on the way in to work I was listening to “God Wills It – Understanding the Crusades” which is a series of lectures given by Prof Thomas Madden.  Today I was listening to the part about how after the first crusade, various religious-military orders developed.  The most famous of these orders was the Knights Templar.

Then I come in today and see this:

The Association of the Sovereign Order of the Temple of Christ, whose members claim to be descended from the legendary crusaders, have filed a lawsuit against Benedict XVI calling for him to recognize the seizure of assets worth 100 billion euros (£79 billion).

Yes, the Knights Templar are suing the Pope. Full story from the Telegraph here.

Wow.

Thanks to Charlie Stross for this bit of weirdness
