Wordpress 2.8 Upgrade problems

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Just a quick note. Today I upgraded this site to WordPress 2.8 . As usual I used the WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin, but after the upgrade was finished I started getting weird gzinflate / guncompress errors.
The site worked fine but I would see the errors when I tried to upgrade a plugin. Searching the [...]

Please excuse the mess

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

OK, I think that I’ve managed to get everything back up and running. It all looks different bu I’m pretty happy with the layout. Something got HOSED with the RSS feed though so if you subscribe via a feedreader (and you really should, some of this stuff is pure genius:) )   I would re-subscribe. Here’s [...]

Blame it on Twitter

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Recently I’ve been having trouble keeping up on my blogging.  It’s not that I don’t feel like writing.  In fact, I am writing more then ever.  The problem seems to be that it has all been on twitter.  The instant gratification of those short bursts make anything else seem like work.
The problem is, I feel [...]

Wordpress Upgrades

Monday, July 21st, 2008

I’ve gone and updated this blog to the latest version of Wordpress.  If you run a wordpress blog, you should really check out the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin.  Wordpress upgrading is a pretty straight forward process, but why not just set it up so you can click through an upgrade.
The plugin will backup your installation [...]

Taking a Break

Friday, July 11th, 2008

I’m taking a break for a little while.  I’m working like crazy on getting the new blog up.  Shooting for Monday.  I hope to have a couple of good things to post here in the next week or so, but I will probably be scaling back to weekly or biweekly postings coming up.
Besides the blog, [...]

Blackbird – A lightweight Twitter client for the Blackberry.  No need [...]

Getting More Social

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

I go back and forth with the social media thing. Granted, it has made the web a much more interesting place to be. But 90% is pure and utter crap. Instead of communication, it seems like a bunch of people making connections then having nothing to talk about.
Such was the case [...]

Working Memorial Day Stinks

Monday, May 26th, 2008

It’s 80 degrees and sunny outside and I am stuck at work. Ahh, the joys of being part of a 24X7 operation. Besides working today, it was a pretty good weekend. We spent along time in clearing out the the ivy that has slowly been trying to consume the house and [...]

Sean’s Blog – Now With 50% More Navel Gazing!

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

I keep going back and forth on how to run this blog.  I want something that isn’t constrained to a topic and is just generally about me, but I also like to write about technology and would like to make an attempt at running a serious blog (ie by serious I mean getting more professional [...]

Sunny Days and Book Reviews

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

May has come around and it is really getting nice outside. Maybe it is to make up for all the snow and general craptasticness of winter in Central Ohio. But with the new house, we finally have a (usable) backyard and this weekend Jess and I got our patio furniture. Of course [...]
